In the end, what was memorable about the episode 17 was the three shots of crab, matsusaka beef, and puffer fish sashimi. When the animation was being drawn for that part, the animation check person came to discuss whether it should be done as a composite or not. The animation came drawn in such beautiful detail, I tried putting some extra effort into it as well. For example, the color of the plate that can be seen through the puffer fish sashimi is different for each row where they are overlapping. Though the difference was pretty much imperceptible when viewed on TV [laughs]. But I feel like it taught me a lot about the "tasty and convincing color of foods that are hyper-realistic."

Actually, the difference is easy to see, at least at the LCD of my laptop.
